RunnerCast Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes how RunnerCast ("the app," "we," "our") handles your information. RunnerCast is operated by James Koole, an individual based in Ontario, Canada.
What information we collect
RunnerCast collects the following information to provide its core functionality:
Location data. The app requests access to your device location in order to retrieve local weather conditions. Your location is used only to fetch weather data and is not stored on our servers or shared with third parties beyond what is necessary to make that weather request.
Preferences and settings. The app stores your personalized running preferences (such as temperature tolerance, preferred running times, and scoring weights) locally on your device. This data does not leave your device.
Usage data. We do not collect analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry beyond what Apple provides automatically through the App Store (see Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy).
How we use your information
We use location data solely to retrieve current and forecast weather conditions relevant to your location. We use your stored preferences solely to calculate your personalised running score. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the core function of the app.
Third-party services
RunnerCast uses a third-party weather data provider (Apple Weather) to retrieve weather information. Your approximate location is sent to this provider to fulfil weather requests.
Apple processes payment and distribution through the App Store. We do not receive your payment information. Apple's data practices are governed by their own privacy policy.
Data retention and storage
Your preferences are stored locally on your device and can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app. We do not maintain a backend database of user data. We do not retain your location beyond the immediate weather request.
Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario privacy law, you have the right to request access to any personal information we hold about you, and to request its correction or deletion. Children's privacy
RunnerCast is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available within the app and at https://runnercast/privacy. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
